YouTube now covers 70% of show tickets in America.
YouTube and Eventbrite teamed up on October 18, 2018 to provide fans in the United States with a direct way to purchase artist concert tickets. A button now appears under videos for musicians with official artist channels (such as Post Malone, Ariana Grande and Drake).
YouTube will continue to add more artists and filming locations as the partnership expands around the world. The company had previously partnered with Ticketmaster to provide a similar retail experience. The link between Eventbrite and Ticketmaster with the video service means that "YouTube now covers more than 70% of the ticketing market in the United States," according to a blog post.
According to a Google study, YouTube has become a musical hub, with more than one billion users logged in per month. YouTube also has a featured artist in its Trends section, which showcases a musician. He also works with creators such as Casey Neistat to produce documentaries on artists like Shawn Mendes. The most viewed YouTube video of all time is the music video for “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi. The next three most viewed videos are also music videos.
